I don’t think I need to wax on about whether or not parents are tired, or why they’re tired. They’re exhausted from having to parent on top of everything else in life; and if they aren’t, I smell a cheat code somewhere!

Well, we want everyone to have a cheat code. We want exhausted parents to have every chance possible to attack life with extreme ferocity and exude brightness. What do I mean by brightness? Think about everything you’re currently feeling short on. Energy, focus, positivity, restfulness, calmness, serenity. If I had all of these and had to describe the feeling in one word, it would be “bright”. And that was my goal when I started piecing together a formula that could be truly helpful to parents.
News Flash: As recently as this morning I was not decided on a name for this product. But I think I’ve finally settled on it. I think we’re going to call Parenity’s brightness beverage “Adulting Done Bright”. It includes two core concepts of the product, it rolls off the tongue just fine, it’s upbeat and playful, and it’s only 5 syllables. So there’s that taken care of 🙂
At this point I feel it’s very important to say:
- Adulting Done Bright will never be a cure for parenthood.
- I cannot promise that consuming the product will make a person feel all of the intended benefits, nor would I want to make such claims unless they were all 100% guaranteed.
I also want it to be very well known that I personally put very little stock in herbal remedies or holistic solutions. I don’t even think most conventional drugs do much worth talking about. That said, all we have in the world are ingredients, and some will do more than others. Given this, I went about putting together the Adulting Done Bright formula by hunting down ingredients with efficacy. I only wanted ingredients that would provide noticeable effects, and ones that had ample documented scientific study data behind them.
How did I do my research? To start off, I bought The Supplement Handbook: A Trusted Expert’s Guide to What Works & What’s Worthless for More Than 100 Conditions. From there I wanted to cross reference this info with other sources; hopefully a single database somewhere online. I found what I was looking for in Examine.com. It’s THE exhaustive source for this sort of data, so I signed up for a full account right away.
Here’s the simplified list of ingredients I came up with, with expected effects in brackets. You may be surprised to see certain ingredients missing from the list. Things such as B-vitamins or Taurine. I honestly expected them to make the cut too, but it turns out there are more effective things!
- Creatine ( Fights Physical and Mental Fatigue, Fights Depression. Not just for bodybuilders! )
- Rhodiola-Rosea ( Depression Fighting, Some Anxiety-Fighting Effects. )
- Ashwagandha, AKA “Indian Ginseng” ( Helps with Sleep Quality, Anxiety, Depression, Cognition; in that order. )
- Panax Ginseng Extract ( Most effective of the ginsengs: Fights Fatigue, Aids Cognition, Some depression-fighting effects. )
- L-Theanine ( Promotes Calm, Fights Anxiety. Often Paired with Caffeine to cancel out the ‘jitters’. )
- Caffeine ( Wakefulness. )
- Saffron ( Fights Depression, some Anxiety-fighting effects. )
The lab we’re working with on this product has already sent us a few samples, and we’re almost there! You can check out the full-length videos on the Parenity Youtube channel to watch our taste tests! At first we wanted to start with a pretty tried and true flavor for this that I thought would mask the ingredient flavors well. Strawberry was my initial request to them, which they produced, but they reported that a much better match for our list of ingredients was Peach/Mango, and we ended up fully agreeing. So that’ll be the first flavor up. We’ll rely on customer feedback to determine what flavor direction we’ll go in next 🙂
And that brings us up to today! I expect to have another (hopefully final) product sample to try by this Thurs/Fri, and we’ll see where things go from there! We still need to register for our NPN and a bunch of things, but we’re getting close here on this product. Stay tuned to all channels for updates as they happen!
